How to turn your Journey into Duo Mode

You can read the step-by-step directions and/or watch the video below.

  1. Prepare the Stroller: Engage the brake, remove the seat, and take out the basket. Adjust the parent handlebar to its lowest position and flip the stroller frame over.

  2. Remove the Rear Axle: Remove the rear wheels. Next, press the release buttons on each side of the rear axle and pull up until the axle is fully removed. Pro Tip: Place your foot on the stroller frame to hold it steady while removing the axle.

  3. Install the Duo Rear Axle: Attach the new Duo Rear Axle with the seat connections facing up towards the parent handlebar.

  4. Add Wheel Guards: Install the wheel guards onto the rear wheels before reattaching the wheels to the stroller.

  5. Flip the Frame Back Over: Turn the stroller frame back to its upright position.

  6. Attach the Duo Mode Basket: Secure the Duo Mode Basket to the stroller frame using the Velcro straps on the front, back, and sides of the basket.

  7. Add Duo Mode Options: Attach your preferred Duo Mode option (e.g., Seat, Car Seat, Duo Bassinet, or Second Seat) and raise the parent handlebar to the highest position.

Optional: If You’re Adding a 2nd Seat to the Lower Portion, you may need to remove the footrest. Use a pen to press the release bars on each side of the footrest. Then, undo the buttons on the back to fully remove the footrest.

Now your Journey stroller is ready for its new adventure in Duo Mode!

FAQs

Do I need to purchase the Duo Mode Bassinet Separately?

Do I have to use the Height Adapters?

  • No, these are optional and have a weight limit of 33 lbs.
  • You can use with seat, bassinet or in duo mode.
  • Never use more than 1 adapter set
  • Never combine with car seat adapters

Do I have to use the Wheel Guards?

  • When in Duo Mode, yes. You will need to use the Wheel Guards to transform the bottom of your stroller into a cozy, safe spot for your 2nd kiddo.

Can I attach the Ride On Board to The Journey when I use it in duo mode?

  • Unfortunately, the rear axle will be covered when the extra seat or bassinet is attached, so there won’t be enough space to fit the Ride On Board.
